TERM 2016 - 2020
I was born November 10, 1945 in a rural area just outside of Lynn, Alabama. I moved to Casa Grande in September 1957 and to Eloy in November 1959 where I attended Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and graduated in the class of 1964. I have been married to my wife of 37 years, have three daughters, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. After working the summer in the grape vineyards with my Dad, I joined the Navy on September first and was stationed at RTC San Diego for boot camp. I graduated in November 1964 and started a long list of duty stations mostly in the Western Pacific area. On September 30, 1990, 26 years later, I transferred to the Fleet Reserve and four years later, I was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Chief Petty Office (E7).
After working nine and a half years as a store manager for Texaco and Arco in the San Diego area, I returned to Eloy in August 1999 and my wife and youngest daughter, Natasha, joined me in December 1999. In January 2000, I joined the Eloy Lions Club and October 2000, after trying retirement, I went to work at NAPA where I still work. In 2002, I ran for a seat on the city council but lost. In 2004, I ran again and won a seat. I was re-elected in 2008 and 2012.
I like watching TV especially westerns that were filmed back when I was growing up.
I hope to stay on city council for as long as my health will allow. I hope I am a voice for the people because I feel someone has to speak up when they feel the issues require it to be done.
