Parks, Recreation and Library Advisory Board

Powers and Duties

Formulate policies on parks and recreation areas, facilities, and services with the approval of the city council. Hear and provide input pertaining to library services, aging population services, parks developments, recreational programming, arts, culture, youth activities, budget priorities, and serve as an advocate for building community and promoting a sense of place within Eloy. Recommend the adoption of standards on park and recreational areas, facilities, programs, and user fees. Have periodic inventories made of recreation services that exist or may be needed and interpret the needs of the public to the City Council and to the Community Services Director. Aid in coordinating the parks and recreation programs and review the effectiveness of the parks and recreation programs with the Community Services Director and the City Council. Assist in communicating the policies and functions of recreational programs to the public. Provide advice to the Community Services Director on the development of long-range improvement programs for parks and library services. Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council and the Community Services Director in all matters pertaining to parks and recreation and library services and cooperate with the governmental agencies and civic groups in the advancement of sound parks and recreation planning and programming, as well as evaluating the efficiencies of library services.  To learn more about this board please click here
