Smiley face JoAnne Galindo was born and raised in Eloy, Arizona. She attended elementary and high school in Eloy and graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School. She attended Central Arizona College and obtained two Associates Degrees in Criminal Justice and General Studies with Honors. She then transferred to the University of Arizona.

JoAnne has worked for the Pinal County Health Department for the past 18 years in Education and Outreach. Currently she serves the Coolidge Unified School District as a School Health Liaison.

Education and volunteering have always been important to JoAnne as she served on the Santa Cruz Valley Union High School Board for nine years; serves as Vice President of Community Outreach of Robson Ranch; serves on the Board of the Latino Familia Initiative; a member of the Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation; she is a member of the Corizon de Latinos Unidos; she sits on the Juvenile Justice Victim Impact Panel; and the Eloy Lions Club. Past boards that JoAnne has served on are the Pinal County Foster Care Review Board; she is a past member of the Eloy Governor’s Alliance Against Drugs; A past member of the AZ Board of Pharmacy; a past member of the AZ Liquor Board; and past member of the Pinal County Community Advisory Board.

JoAnne was recently inducted into the Central Arizona College Wall of Success and featured in the La Familia Initiative annual report.

JoAnne was raised in Eloy by her parents Ramon and Laura Galindo. Ramon (Ray) was a well known, loved and respected butcher at Foodtown and Laura was a beloved childcare provider for AZ DES. JoAnne raised her daughter, Anissa, in Eloy. Anissa also graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School, Central Arizona College and the Northern Arizona University. Anissa is currently working on her Master’s Degree.
