Field Services-Patrol & Investigation

Patrol Division

The primary goal of the Patrol Division is to protect the community through proactive policing strategies and to promote public safety through the suppression of crime. The Patrol Division has 4 squads led by 4 patrol sergeants and 15 patrol officers that work a modified schedule of 2 8-hour shifts and 2 12-hour shifts providing continuous coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Investigations Division

The Investigations Division is responsible for conducting in-depth investigations of all major crimes, such as murder, robbery, rape, burglary, and serious assaults. They also conduct follow-up investigations of crimes initially investigated by the Patrol Division determined on a
case-by-case basis.

Investigations consist of 1 sergeant, 4 general investigation’s detectives, 1 sex crimes detective, and 1 identification / evidence technician. There are also detectives assigned to the Pinal County Narcotics Task Force and Arizona Department of Public Safety GIITEM.
